Fujifilm has announced the FUJINON 25-1000mm F2.8-5.0 PL broadcast box lens. This novelty covers large matrices of movie cameras. The FUJINON 25-1000mm F2.8-5.0 PL box lens will be available in 2023.

Equipped with a built-in PL mount, this box lens offers 40x magnification at a telephoto focal length of 1000mm, the highest combination of magnification and telephoto for large sensors to date. The maximum aperture value when using a focal length of 1000mm is F/5. This allows you to shoot in low light conditions.

Fujifilm employees observed and collected feedback from the growing world of professionals working with digital cinema cameras in a live production environment. From the data provided by the staff, the manufacturer concluded that there was a clear need for a PL mount lens that could cover a variety of large sensors and offer a very wide range of focal lengths.

The FUJINON 25-1000mm F2.8-5.0 PL lens uses a dual format system. This means that it can support two sensor sizes: widescreen and S35. A 1.5x extender must be used in order for the lens to cover full-frame sensors.

The lens is the first commercially available box type zoom lens compatible with large sensors equipped with optical image stabilization.

Fujifilm emphasizes that its patented optical technology suppresses aberrations by using a large aperture aspherical lens and a fluorite lens that has been finely polished. By eliminating unnecessary ghosting, flare and color banding, the lens delivers high optical performance and a natural image.

The bokeh effect is controlled by multiple simulations using Fujifilm’s proprietary optical design application “FOCUS” (Fujifilm Optical Class Library and Utilities System). It determines the optimum glass materials from an endless combination of possibilities.

The texture of each layer in the out of focus area is checked to achieve bokeh that softens and blurs the background naturally. In addition, operators can operate the lens in a live broadcast setup.

In addition to stabilization, the Fujinon HZK 25-1000mm F2.8-F5.0 supports all of the latest technological enhancements that are now standard on most Fujinon broadcast lenses from Fujifilm, such as Automatic Light Attenuation Restoration (ARIA), Remote Back Focus, and Automated Correction. chromatic aberration.

The Fujinon HZK 25-1000mm F2.8-F5.0 Box Lens is expected to be available in spring 2023, but there is no word on pricing at this time.
