Hasselblad has announced the release of a new medium-format camera Hasselblad X2D 100C. The new camera model received a 100 mp. medium-format matrix with 5-axis stabilization based on sensor shift (IBIS). It is reported that this is a CMOS matrix with reverse illumination. Its dimensions are 43.8 mm x 32.9 mm. The effectiveness of 5-axis stabilization is 7 exposure stages. The dynamic range is estimated at 15 exposure levels, the color depth is 16 bits. A significant improvement in the autofocus system is also reported. The Hasselblad X2D 100C autofocus operates on a phase principle and uses 294 phase zones covering 97% of the frame. As well as an integrated 1 TB solid-state drive and support for CFexpress Type B memory cards. The novelty received two screens. On the upper panel of the case there will be a color display with a diagonal of 1.08 inches and a resolution of 158,400 pixels. The main screen is a folding touch screen with a diagonal of 3.6 inches and a resolution of 2.36 mp. According to information from the manufacturer, a high-quality electronic OLED viewfinder is installed in the camera. Its resolution is 5.75 mp, covering 100% of the field of view of the system, an increase of 1x and a refresh rate of 60 frames/s.
Hasselblad X2D 100C will receive a wireless adapter that implements Wi-Fi 802.11ax communication. Wired data transfer is carried out via USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port. The battery capacity will be 3400 mAh. It will be possible to charge it directly in the camera via USB-C. It will take about 2 hours to fully charge the battery when using a standard charger with an output power of 30 watts. Dimensions of Hasselblad X2D 100C – 148.5 x 106 x 74.5 mm, weight 895 grams. According to preliminary data, the cost of the camera will be about 8000 euros.
In addition to the camera, Hasselblad introduced three new XCD prime lenses: Hasselblad XCD 38mm F/2.5, Hasselblad XCD V 55mm F/2.5 and Hasselblad XCD 90mm F/2.5.
All three new items received an additional control ring on the case. The lens autofocus module is driven by a stepper motor. But the main thing in them is a petal shutter. According to the manufacturer, it provides synchronization with flashes over the entire shutter speed range. Let’s take a look at each of the lenses below.
Hasselblad XCD 38mm f/2.5. The optical design of the Hasselblad 38mm F/2.5 consists of ten elements in nine groups, including three aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements. The minimum focusing distance is 30 cm.
The focusing of the lens is internal, which means that the dimensions of the lens do not change during operation. The thread for the light filter is 72 mm, the body dimensions are 68 mm in length and 76 in diameter with a weight of 350 g. The price of the lens is the usual, as for this brand, and is $ 3,700
Hasselblad XCD V 55mm f/2.5. The optical design of the Hasselblad XCD V 55mm F/2.5 consists of eight groups, including three aspherical elements and one element with extra-low dispersion. The minimum focusing distance is just 45 cm. The new lens measures 72 mm long and 76 mm in diameter and weighs approximately 372 g. without caps and lens hood. Diameter for filter 72 mm. The price is the same as the $3700 38mm lens.
Hasselblad XCD 90mm f/2.5. The new Hasselblad XCD 90mm f/2.5 has a full frame equivalent focal length of 71mm. The optical design consists of nine elements in six groups, including one aspherical element and one element with extra low dispersion. The minimum focusing distance is only 67 cm. The lens measures 95 mm long and 75 mm in diameter and weighs approximately 551 g. The price for this lens is $4299.
