NOKTON Vintage Line 35mm F1.5 Aspherical VM: new lens from Cosina

Cosina introduced the NOKTON Vintage Line 35mm F1.5 Aspherical VM lens. The Voigtlander NOKTON Vintage Line 35mm F1.5 Aspherical VM is a retro style compact aspherical lens for the Leica M mount. It is a standard lens for rangefinder cameras. It is quite simple and compact, made in the classic design of the 1970s.

The Voigtlander NOKTON Vintage Line 35mm F1.5 Aspherical VM lens is available in two versions — Type I and Type II. The versions differ in the type of finish and the material used to make the case.

The optical scheme of the lens consists of 9 elements in 6 groups, including 2 aspherical lenses. It also has a multi-layer anti-reflective coating to increase light transmission and suppress glare and ghosting. The diaphragm consists of 12 blades (F/1.5 to F/16). Adjustments are carried out exclusively using the ring on the lens. The minimum focusing distance is 5 centimeters.

The press release states that the lens has undergone fine tuning and precision processing of the elements of the helicoidal mechanism. It also uses high quality lubricant for more accurate and smooth manual focusing.

The version of the Voigtlander Nokton 35 mm F/1.5 Type I lens is made of aluminum and is only available in black. The Type II version of the lens is made of brass and is available in two colors: black and silver. The dimensions of the novelty are Ø53 × 36 mm, the Type I version weighs 188 g, the Type II version weighs 285 grams.

  The Voigtlander NOKTON Vintage Line 35mm F1.5 Aspherical VM lens will go on sale in November 2022 for 110,000 yen for the Type I model and 120,000 yen for the Type II model.
